Gear Cut Pinions and Blanks for Clocks

Index

We can supply a large selection of pinions with the leaves cut, the arbor roughly turned and male centers but no pivots turned on.
These are available in lengths which will allow shortening to fit most clock plates. The leaves are cut with square bottomed cutters which makes them ideal for restoration work. No hardening or polishing is carried out unless requested.
In most cases the pinion head is at the end of the arbor but this is sufficiently far in to allow some adjustment. The pinions are available with diameters increasing by quarter millimeter steps, and these are cut in 6, 7, & 8, leaves see following chart.

Pinion Blanks

Pinion blanks roughed out ready to mill can be supplied, these are 8mm diameter on the head and approximately 80mm long. These save time when making a clock movement. Price:- £6 each, 6 for £30.
